Xbox unveils demo and livestream plans for Gamescom this month

As expected, Xbox will be returning to Gamescom this year. Not only will the Xbox team have a booth on the show floor with playable game demos, but there will also a livestream with new announcements.

If you happen to be attending Gamescom and swing by the Xbox booth you'll be able to get hands-on time with Obsidian's upcoming RPG ‘Pentiment', as well as the latest version of Grounded, which leaves Early Access in September. Other titles appearing at the booth include Microsoft Flight Simulator, Age of Empires IV, Sea of Thieves, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Disney Dreamlight, Gunfire Reborn, Inkulinati, Last Case of Benedict Fox, Lies of P, Lightyear Frontier, Planet of Lana and You Suck at Parking.

On the 25th of August, Xbox will be livestreaming from the booth for several hours. During the stream, there will be developer interviews, as well as some updates on upcoming games and possibly some new announcements.

This week, Xbox users noticed that pages for popular titles across the store are being updated with cloud support, indicating that soon you'll be able to stream any digital Xbox game you own via Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud). We would expect to hear this and perhaps some other Game Pass updates during the show.

KitGuru Says: The Xbox stream isn't being advertised as a major showcase, so don't go in expecting too much. Most major announcements at Gamescom will be happening during Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live show at the start of the event.
