Last week, an update to the World of Warcraft website mistakenly revealed an ad with the release date for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Usually when a leak like this happens, an official announcement is imminent and that was exactly the case here. Today, Blizzard confirmed Wrath of the Lich King Classic for September.
World of Warcraft Classic players will be able to revisit the Wrath of the Lich King expansion starting on the 26th of September. The expansion will have a global launch, so here in the UK, you can start logging in at 11PM BST. The expansion will also be free to anyone that has an active WoW subscription.
The image was later removed from the website due to the fact that it was not supposed to be public yet. Given the leak, we can expect an official announcement from Blizzard very soon to confirm the release date.
When looking back at the ‘golden age' of WoW, many fans rate the base game and expansions differently. Some prefer the vanilla experience, others made their memories during The Burning Crusade and for another good chunk of players, Wrath of the Lich King was the best expansion. With WoW Classic now covering all three of those time periods, we might see Blizzard take a break from Classic expansions for the foreseeable future.

KitGuru Says: Wrath of the Lich King Classic is on the way and just a few months later, the next major WoW expansion, Dragonflight, should also be available, making this a pretty big year for World of Warcraft fans.
