Corsair launches world’s first bendable OLED gaming display

Corsair has been making a name for itself in the monitor market recently with its Xeneon line of gaming displays. Today, Corsair revealed its most impressive display yet – the Corsair Xeneon Flex, a flexible OLED monitor that you can keep flat or bend into a curved display.

The Xeneon Flex uses a 45-inch OLED panel with 3440×1440 resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. The OLED panel itself comes from LG, and can deliver 1000 nits of peak brightness, and a contrast ratio of 1,350,000:1, so it should be excellent for HDR content too. If that wasn't enough, it is also highly qualified for gaming, thanks to a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.01ms pixel on/off time and 0.03ms of GtG response time. You also get G-Sync and FreeSync Premium, so you'll never have to worry about screen tearing.

Since this is a PC monitor, there is a higher chance of static images being displayed on-screen for longer, and that can increase burn-in risk for OLED displays. To solve this issue, Corsair has a burn-in prevention system in place to ensure UI or OS elements don't linger over time. Buyers also get a three-year Zero Burn in and Zero Dead Pixel warranty.

The main attraction here is that this is a flexible OLED display, so you can have stretched out into a flatscreen, or you can use the handles at the sides of the monitor to bend the display for an 800R curvature, which can increase immersion while gaming, so you get the best of both worlds.

The Corsair Xeneon Flex OLED Gaming Monitor is being shown off at Gamescom this week. Leo is there at the moment and swung by to check the monitor out in person, you can see photos of the prototype below:

The prototype here at Gamescom is 3D printed, and Corsair plans to have samples to show off later in the year, followed by consumer availability in early 2023.

KitGuru Says: LG, Samsung and others have been working on flexible OLED for a long, long time. Now, Corsair has found good use for that technology. What do you all think of the Xeneon Flex? Is this something you'd like for your setup?
