Despite some initial concerns, Sony's PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers have been pretty well received thanks to a solid library of games available at launch. Soon, the service will get even better thanks to the addition of the Yakuza series.
Recently after a brief period off of the service, the full Yakuza series returned to Xbox Game Pass, giving subscribers the opportunity to play through Yakuza 0, the Kiwami remakes of Yakuza 1 and 2, as well as the remasters for Yakuza 3, 4 and 5, as well as the grand finale to the Kiryu saga, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
Now, those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra (£10.99 per month) or PlayStation Plus Premium (£13.49 per month) will also get to play through the full series. Starting in August, the library will be updated with Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2. The remaining games in the series will be added “later this year”.
If the action combat of the original series isn't for you, then Yakuza: Like A Dragon makes a great jumping on point for newcomers to the series. The game stars a new cast of characters and makes a number of gameplay changes, including a move to turn-based combat and an RPG party system. Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be available to PS+ Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers in August.

KitGuru Says: The Yakuza games are engrossing, with a great mix of humour and intense story moments. There is so much content to get through that they end up being a great value add for services like PS+ Extra and Xbox Game Pass too.
