Late last year, Dr. Disrespect announced Midnight Society, his own game studio, as well as plans to release a new first-person shooter developed in Unreal Engine 5. This week, the studio revealed the first gameplay footage, giving us a very early look at the game.
Midnight Society’s shooter will be called ‘Deadrop’ and will be a ‘vertical extraction shooter’, with gameplay centred around collecting gear and resources while fighting your way up through levels of a massive skyscraper building. Once you have a successful escape, you use what you gathered to better prepare for your next trip to the tower.
Dr. Disrespect has revealed the name of his upcoming shooter 'DEADROP' and has called it "the world's first vertical extraction shooter."
Here's a look at gameplay, looks like it's just a firing range for now. pic.twitter.com/U1RWeeb0Dx

There is a small gameplay clip that has been shared, simply showing a pre-alpha build with a gun range to test out weapons. While Dr. Disrespect claims that the game looks better than Call of Duty, it is hard to see how true that is with the current gameplay clip, as we are only shown as very small test area. It is also worth noting the game is still in early development, as the studio only formed in late 2021.
With the game being built in Unreal Engine 5, there is plenty of room for graphical improvement, so we should expect the game to look better in future builds as the developers continue to build out the game.

KitGuru Says: The game being set in a massive skyscraper does sound like an interesting idea. Hopefully we will start to see more of the game soon.
