Monster Hunter Wilds gets two more weapon trailers

Capcom has been on a spree of reveals for its next generation Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Wilds. The publisher has been uploading gameplay clips focusing on different mechanics and weapons, seemingly in a lead-up to a big announcement at Gamescom. We've already seen a bunch of heavier weapons, but the latest weapon trailers are more focused on those who value speed and manoeuvrability.

Yesterday, Capcom released the trailer for my personal favourite weapon in Monster Hunter, the Switch Axe. This is two weapons in one, allowing you to switch between Axe and Sword modes. It is for a purely offensive build, with evasive dodges rather than any parry ability.

The second trailer that dropped in the last 24 hours is focused on the Bow, which is great for firing off quick shots at monsters and quickly evading attacks, but the stamina cost for using these moves is significant. It is perhaps one of the hardest weapons to play with, because while it does allow for quick speeds, you will also find yourself pausing for stamina.

There are 14 total main weapon types in Monster Hunter and at this point in time, there are just three left to get trailers. That means we'll be getting more trailers over the weekend and on Monday, or perhaps one big drop on Monday, leading into Gamescom on Tuesday, where we expect to get a release date announcement for Monster Hunter Wilds.
