Gamescom is just a few days away and we may have just had the first major leak. Ahead of a presumably imminent reveal, the Amazon store page for Dead Island 2 has gone live, complete with box art and the first details about the final version of the game.
Dead Island 2 was first announced for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2014. However, trouble soon ensued, with the project being rebooted multiple times, while also moving to entirely different studios and teams. This year, rumours have pointed to a 2022 re-reveal for the game, and an early 2023 release, both of which are confirmed by today's Amazon leak.
As spotted by Wario64, Dead Island 2 leaked on Amazon with a February 2023 release date. The new game will feature six playable characters, who for reasons unknown, are immune to the zombie infection. Together, the group needs to hunker down and try to keep Los Angeles from being over run.
Dead Island 2 is currently under development at Dambuster Studios, with Deep Silver publishing. Given the timing of this leak, we would expect a trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

KitGuru Says: Saints Row was also announced late last year with an early 2022 release date, only to be delayed six weeks later. Dead Island 2 has been in the works for almost ten years already, but I would still expect a delay until a little bit later in 2023.
