Smash Bros. creator announces YouTube Channel – ‘Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games’

Masahiro Sakurai is one of the best known names in gaming, having been responsible for some of Nintendo’s biggest IP, including Kirby and Super Smash Bros. Following the conclusion of Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC, it seems Sakurai is expanding his horizons; creating a YouTube channel where he discusses game creation.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Sakurai said “I've decided to start a new YouTube channel called “Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games.” It launches…right now! Subscribe today and you can brag (?) about being one of the very first to join me on this new endeavor. I'll share more details soon!”

Already the channel features 4 short but succinct videos, covering various topics from Sakurai’s best works, to the video game fighting design technique “hit stop” to a discussion of Kirby’s Dream Land.

Masahiro Sakurai has always loved taking fans though his creative process, with the game designer taking any and all opportunities to present lengthy explanations behind each and every Smash Bros. character. It will be truly interesting to see what else Sakurai uploads in the future. The YouTube channel can be found HERE.
