Intel shows off first 13th Gen ‘Raptor Lake’ wafer

This week, Leo has been in Israel with Intel for a big technology tour. So far, we've learned quite a bit about Intel's production and development cycle, and how it plans to deliver on its busy five-year roadmap. Now today, we have our first look at an Intel Raptor Lake wafer.

The image below is the first official look at a 13th Gen Raptor Lake wafer. In the weeks to come, we can expect to see Intel revealing more official details about its upcoming 13th Gen Core desktop processors.

While Intel hasn't officially announced its 13th Gen Core series of processors, details were accidentally published on one of the company's official websites (via Videocardz). The leak confirmed the clock speeds for key SKUs, like the Core i5-13600K, Core i7-13700K and Core i9-13900K.

These details line up with an earlier leak from Igor's Lab, which contains presentation slides (like the one above) with the full line-up of CPUs listed, alongside specifications and features.

Another leak from last week also claimed to show the entire 13th Gen Core CPU line-up. Currently, we expect to see 14 SKUs, divided between K, non-K, F, KF and T series chips. The flagship processor is the Core i9-13900K/KF, packing 8x P-cores and 16x E-cores. For those that still want top performance while saving a bit of cash, the Core i7-13700K/KF will offer 8x P-cores and 8x E-cores, as well as higher boost clock speeds compared to the previous generation. Finally, the Core i5 K/KF CPUs should offer 6x E-cores and 6x P-cores.

Intel is expected to announce its 13th Gen Core desktop CPUs at Intel Innovation, which kicks off on the 27th of September. The first units should become available at retail in October.
