This week Leo flew out to Cologne, Germany, to check out Gamescom 2022 – the expo's first live show in three years. He had visits to Samsung, WD and Corsair, getting hands on with the new 990 Pro SSD and Xeneon Flex OLED monitor.
Leo made a few stops along the way at the main expo, held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. As you can see in the video, he was quite amazed by the reaction given by fans to the Farming Simulator demo, and saw a number of eye-catching costumes.
His first real stop, however, was to see Samsung and the new 990 Pro SSD. Hitting the market in October, this new drive features the company's latest V-NAND and a new proprietary controller, allowing for sequential read/write speeds of up to 7,450 MB/s and 6,900 MB/s, respectively. Leo also swung by to see Corsair, who were showcasing the rather extraordinary Xeneon Flex OLED monitor. It's 45in 3440×1440 panel, at 240Hz no less, would be interesting enough on its own – but better yet, the Xeneon Flex is actually bendable, allowing you to keep it flat, or curved out to 800R. The model on show was a 3D-printed prototype, but we expect general retail availability early next year. You can read the full announcement HERE.
