We've known for months that Ubisoft is working on a smaller, stealth-focused Assassin's Creed game to help bridge the gap between Valhalla and the next mainline release. Now thanks to a new leak, we know that this game will be called Assassin's Creed Mirage.
YouTuber ‘J0nathan‘ recently shared some information he received on the new Assassin's Creed game. The new title ‘Assassin's Creed Mirage' was later confirmed by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, although not all claims in the leak are accurate.
While the original leak claims the game will feature multiple cities to explore, Schreier says that is not accurate. However, other parts of the leak have been corroborated. Unlike Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, Mirage will be an ‘old school' style Assassin's Creed game, taking gameplay back to the series' roots.
The game itself will be set between the years 860 and 870 in Baghdad. Players will take on the role of Basim, who appeared in Valhalla previously. You'll see Basim's transformation from a young thief into a master assassin.
There is no exact release date yet, but Ubisoft is expected to officially announce this game later this month as part of the Assassin's Creed anniversary celebration.

KitGuru Says: Each RPG-focused Assassin's Creed ended up more content-packed than the last, to a point where it is off-putting to a lot of people. With that in mind, it will be nice to take a break from that and see a smaller-scale Assassin's Creed game that sticks closer to the series' roots.
