From Software has had an incredible run over the last decade, finding great success with the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne, and most recently, Elden Ring. From Software is already backed by Japanese media conglomerate, Kadokawa. but new investors are now being brought on board, including Sony and Tencent.
Sony and Tencent now own a combined 30.34 percent stake in From Software, with Tencent taking 16.25 percent and Sony Interactive Entertainment taking the other 14.09 percent stake. Kadokawa Corporation still owns the majority of the company and retains 69.66 percent of shares in the studio.
In all, Sony and Tencent invested a combined 36.4 billion Yen into From Software, which works out to around $250 million USD. The deal values From Software at just under $1 billion USD currently and will allow the studio to expand its creative efforts beyond games and into other forms of media. The investment will also aid in the creation of new games, based on both new and old IP.
That's all the information we have for now, but with Sony being a key investor in From Software now, we'd expect to see further partnership between the two companies.

KitGuru Says: While Sony is a part-owner of From Software now, I'd still expect to see most From Software games releasing across multiple platforms.
