Sony celebrates Sly Cooper 20th anniversary

20 years ago, Sucker Punch released its first PlayStation game – Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. The Sly Cooper series has gone on to become a classic PlayStation franchise and a fan favourite. To celebrate its anniversary, PlayStation will launch exclusive merchandise in collaboration with Fangamer and Cook & Becker.

At launch in September 2002, the first Sly Cooper game delivered a new take on the 3D platformer, adding stealth mechanics, incredible level design and excellent cutscenes. These characteristics helped the game stand out, and continued to be present in sequels throughout the 2000s.

To celebrate the game's 20th anniversary, PlayStation started by offering PlayStation Plus Premium members the ability to play The Sly Collection, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, and Bentley's Hackpack.

Additionally, PlayStation collaborated with Cook & Becker to create an ultra high-quality fine art print with FSC-certified Radiant White 270gsm paper. Cook & Becker will have it available with 28”x40” (71x101cm) for $225 and 20”x28” (51x71cm) for $120. Both sizes will include a Certificate of Authenticity signed by artist Dev Madan and will be available for sale in October. The PlayStation Gear Store will have a smaller copy using 100 gloss text paper with 18”x 24″ (46x61cm) for $25 starting December 2nd.

Also in the PlayStation Gear Store, fans of the series will be able to get a T-shirt featuring brand new art of Bentley, Murray, Carmelita Fox and Sly. The T-shirt will cost $33.95 and will start shipping on December 2nd. Lastly, there's a 9-inch (23cm) tall Sly Cooper 20th Anniversary Plush with a magnetically detachable plush cane made in collaboration with Fangamer. This plush will be shipped starting early next year.
