Corsair launches 600W 12VHPWR cables for RTX 4090, liquid cooling blocks on the way

Earlier this week, Nvidia officially launched the first RTX 40 series graphics cards. We've seen board partners show off their custom-cooled solutions, and now Corsair is getting in on the action with new 12VHPWR cables for the RTX 4090, as well as new liquid cooling blocks.

The newly announced Nvidia RTX 4090 is a massive graphics card with high power requirements. Corsair's existing PSU line-up is already compatible with the new RTX 40 series, as all RTX 4090 graphics cards ship with a PCIe 8-pin to 12VHPWR adapter. Corsair will also be selling new 12VHPWR 600W cables, compatible with all Corsair type-4 PSUs, allowing direct power to the GPU without an adapter. In order to use the cable, you'll need a 1200W rated Corsair PSU or higher.

Corsair is also prepping new water-cooling gear for Nvidia's new GPUs. The company is readying a range of Hydro X Series XG7 total-conversion water blocks with nickel-plated copper contact plates, high-density cooling fins and a full coverage aluminium back plate. Given the RTX 4090's cooling requirements, liquid cooling is going to be an attractive option, as most air-cooled models have very bulky coolers wider than three slots.

Corsair's new RTX 40 series cooling blocks will be available in early November for Founders Edition cards.
