One Piece Odyssey’s delayed release date announced

The history of One Piece games have been hit or miss, however it seems the upcoming One Piece Odyssey is generating a decent amount of excitement from fans. Initially intended to launch sometime this year, the team at ILCA and Bandai Namco have now announced the game’s release date – coming early next year.

Making the announcement at Tokyo Game Show, Bandai Namco hosted an hour-long One Piece Odyssey Special presentation, where alongside gameplay, the unveiling of the game’s special edition and more, it was announced that One Piece Odyssey will release on the 12th of January 2023 (13th of January on Steam).

As mentioned, the game was originally planned to come out sometime this year, and so the delay is worth noting. Luckily, it has only been pushed to the first few weeks of next year, meaning eager fans won’t have to wait too much longer.

For the uninitiated, the plot for One Piece Odyssey reads as follows: “Broken Thousand Sunny… Scattered crew members… Luffy’s missing straw hat…During their voyage, the Straw Hats, led by Monkey D. Luffy are swallowed by a huge storm at sea. They end up on a mysterious island full of nature amidst the storm and become separated from each other. The crew set out on a new adventurous journey filled with wonders of a raging nature, powerful enemies, and strange encounters with island locals. Work together with Luffy and his crew to set sail once again.”
