Octopath Traveler 2 will launch on PC and Nintendo Switch in February

Octopath Traveler kicked off a new HD-2D era for Square Enix RPGs. Now after an extended break, a full sequel is officially on the way, and Square Enix will be releasing it across multiple platforms right from the get-go.

During Nintendo Direct in September, Octopath Traveler 2 was officially announced for Nintendo Switch, complete with a reveal trailer. Now, just a couple of months later, a new trailer has dropped, showcasing two of the game's main characters – Partito Yellowwill and Oscald V. Vanstein.

Just like the original game, Octopath Traveler 2 will split its story up into chapters, with each main character in your party having their own unique quest. The sequel will also make some new additions to the combat system.

While we were initially unsure if Octopath Traveler 2 would launch on Switch and PC at the same time, Square Enix has now confirmed release dates for both platforms. Unfortunately, it won't be a same day release, but PC players will only have to wait one extra day. Octopath Traveler 2 will release for Nintendo Switch on the 24th of February, and PC on the 25th of February 2023.
