Dragon Ball Z Kakarot to get PS5 and Series X|S release

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is one of the most successful games in the franchise, having sold over 5 million copies since its release back in 2020. With so many copies sold, it is no surprise that Bandai Namco is planning to continue supporting the game with additional DLC, as well as a bespoke current-gen version.

Arriving some time in 2023, Xbox One and PS4 players will be able to upgrade to a ‘current-gen’ version of the game for free upon its release. It being a bespoke next-gen SKU allows for further utilisation of the more powerful console hardware.

So far, Bandai Namco has confirmed that the game will benefit from “enhanced graphics” and 60fps. What is meant precisely by enhanced graphics is currently unknown however thanks to a comparison video released, it is clear that the changes are not merely a matter of resolution, but also includes more creative improvements.

With Dragonball Z Kakarot being revived on PS5 and Series X|S, as well as the announcement that the game will get a second season of DLC including three story-based expansions, it is safe to say that selling 5 million copies might only be the beginning.
