With AMD's Ryzen 9000 series processors now available, motherboard makers are finally beginning to unveil their line-ups of X870 and X870E motherboards. This week at Gamescom, Asus is launching its full line-up, including new ProArt, ROG and TUF Gaming models.
The new Asus X870 motherboards are equipped with AI optimization, Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex, AEMP, PCIe 5.0, and WiFi 7 with ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna (for the models with WiFi). If you spring for an ROG Crosshair X870E Hero or ROG Strix X870E motherboard, you'll also benefit from Asus's new NitroPath DRAM technology for even faster memory performance.
Below is a full list of each new Asus X870/X870E motherboard:
- ROG Crosshair X870E Hero
- ROG Strix X870-E Gaming WiFi
- ROG Strix X870-F Gaming WiFi
- ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI
- ROG STRIX X870-I GAMING WIFI
- TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI
- ProArtX870E-Creator WiFi
- Prime X870-P WiFi
- PRIME X870-P
AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs slot into the AM5 socket, allowing owners of an X670E motherboard to upgrade their current systems after a BIOS update. However, for those building a new system today, X870/X870E is the ideal choice. If you want extra PCIe lanes to work with for SSDs and graphics cards, then X870E is your point of call as these motherboards are the most feature-rich of the bunch.
