Asus has shown up to Gamescom 2024 armed with a bunch of exciting new products. At the top of our list, we have three new ROG gaming monitors, including one of the very first displays to sport Nvidia's new G-Sync Pulsar technology.
For starters, we have the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP, sporting a WOLED panel with an impressive 480Hz refresh rate, making it one of the fastest OLEDs on the market. Asus also has a second new OLED monitor hitting the market soon, the ROG Strix XG27ACDNG, which sports a 360Hz QD-OLED panel instead. Both monitors are 27-inches, with 2560×1440 resolution, an ideal size and resolution for gaming at high refresh rates.
While not an OLED display, the new ROG Swift PG27AQNR has captured our interest. This is a new LCD monitor, with 1440p resolution and a great 360Hz refresh rate. The real benefit of going with this over an OLED is the inclusion of Nvidia's new G-Sync Pulsar technology.
After working with Mediatek, Nvidia's G-Sync module can now be integrated into Mediatek's widely used display scalers, removing the need for additional hardware to be included. Additionally, G-Sync Pulsar enables much greater motion clarity, comparable to a 1000Hz display according to Nvidia, combining the best elements of Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) mode and G-Sync. Previously, users had to sacrifice Variable Refresh Rate in order to use ULMB but with G-Sync Pulsar monitors, this will no longer be the case.
The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP will be available first, starting in Q3 for €1,099. The ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR and ROG Strix XG27ACDNG will be available in Q4, with pricing still to be confirmed.
