Blizzard has been making good progress with Diablo 4 this year. Not only did we finally get a gameplay trailer back at E3, but the development team has also been posting monthly updates on the game's progress. This month, the company announced the first ‘public' Diablo 4 beta, and the first wave of invites have now gone out.
While this year's Diablo 4 beta is being conducted publicly, it is a closed beta, requiring players to opt-in through their Blizzard account in order to get an invite. Blizzard is also prioritising players with a lot of hours in Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 for this beta.
Players have officially begun receiving their invites to the beta test, which contains a sample of ‘end game' content – so everything you'll be doing after beating the campaign. The beta will include Nightmare Dungeons, Helltide and more, so you'll get a good feel for the game and what Blizzard plans to offer.
If you miss out on the closed beta, then just hang tight. Blizzard has also announced an open beta, which will take place for PC, Xbox and PlayStation in early 2023. Presumably, that means Diablo 4 is planned to launch in the first half of next year, rather than later in the year.
