In a surprise announcement last week, Google revealed that they would be shutting down their Stadia game streaming service. Though it did not offer the biggest library, Stadia did have some exclusive games, and so in the wake of its closure, it has been announced that Stadia-exclusive GYLT will come to other systems.
Following the announcement that Google would be shutting down its Stadia service, Tequila Works founder and CEO Raul Rubio Munarriz took to Twitter to confirm that the studio’s game GYLT will not be left behind by the death of Stadia, saying “GYLT port confirmed for other platforms.”
Nothing else was offered regarding when the port will be released and to which platforms, but considering the surprise nature of Stadia’s closure, it is possible that we might have to wait a while.
First released in November 2019, GYLT is a “haunting tale about bullying and childhood nightmares, as you help Sally navigate a creepy world to rescue her missing cousin Emily”. The game received generally favourable reviews, though is seemingly nothing to write home about. Still, it coming to other platforms is highly welcome, and hopefully will give GYLT a second chance at success.
