Uncharted is Sony’s lowest performing PC game to date

Sony has had a good run of PC releases lately, with each new game launch being incredibly popular on Steam. Unfortunately, it seems the recent release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves did not perform as well as other titles and currently sits as the lowest performer of the bunch.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection was always in an awkward position. While it is great to see Uncharted 4 and its standalone expansion running on PC, Sony chose not to port over the original trilogy. It seems this move had a knock-on effect on sales, with the collection only garnering close to 11,000 peak concurrent players at launch (via VGC), a far cry from the 73,000 players that played God of War when that launched, or the 66,000 players that logged into Spider-Man Remastered.

Previous releases like Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone also garnered significantly higher peak concurrent player counts, sitting at 56,000 and 27,000 respectively. Each other major release was the first entry in a series, while Sony is asking PC players to jump into Uncharted on what is essentially the final chapter of Nathan Drake's adventure.

While there are fewer players jumping into Uncharted, the game does have mostly positive user reviews on Steam. Additionally, it is worth noting that this game was originally supposed to come out much earlier in the year, but was delayed all the way to a busy October season, with newer games just on the horizon. This also likely had an impact on the number of players jumping in at launch.
