Just as previous leaks indicated, EA is releasing a new Need for Speed title this year. Need for Speed Unbound will offer a more stylised aesthetic while going back to the series' street racing roots.
As reported by IGN, Unbound is built using the Frostbite Engine, but it is targeting new-gen systems only, so it'll be coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, while skipping over Xbox One and PS4. The game itself will run at 4K/60FPS on consoles, while PC players should be able to push performance even higher if they have the right hardware for it.
The game is set in a new fictional open world known as Lakeshore, where groups of street racers (including IRL rapper, A$AP Rocky) constantly compete against one another and evade the cops along the way. The game has an offline single-player mode, so you won't need an internet connection to play.
Other upgrades with Unbound include a new physics system, as well as cross-play, so you can race against those on other platforms. The game will launch on the 2nd of December.
