Horizon Forbidden West writer joins Playground Games for Fable reboot

Playground Games' Fable reboot has been in the works for five years now, but there is still a long way to go before we finally see the game in action. Earlier this year, PlayGround Games appointed a new narrative lead for the project, and now, one of the senior writers behind Horizon Forbidden West has also joined the team.

As of July, Anna Megill, known for her work on games like Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Control, Guild Wars 2 and even Ubisoft's upcoming Avatar game, has joined Playground as narrative lead for Fable. Now, Andrew Walsh is joining the team. If you are a hardcore Fable fan, you may recognise that name as Walsh had previously worked on Fable Legends, which was announced for Xbox One back in 2013 and was later cancelled when Lionhead Studios shut down.

Walsh has also previously worked on other major titles, including The Division 2, Prince of Persia and most recently, Horizon Forbidden West and VR spin-off, Call of the Mountain.

With Playground Games filling up a number of key positions for Fable this year, it is safe to assume that the game is still someways off from release.

KitGuru Says: While many of us hoped Fable would be an early exclusive in the Series X/S generation, all signs point to the game being at least a couple more years away.
