The Callisto Protocol will offer a 60fps performance mode on consoles

Recently, we reported that the upcoming Gotham Knights would be launching with just one graphics mode on consoles; that being a 30fps experience. With most current-gen titles offering multiple performance options, its absence is notable. Fortunately, one upcoming game which WILL offer multiple modes is The Callisto Protocol.

A rumour recently popped up claiming that Striking Distance Studios’ upcoming survival action horror title The Callisto Protocol would be delayed from its 2nd of December release date, instead coming out sometime early next year.

Fortunately, this isn’t actually the case, with the studio taking to Twitter to reaffirm the previously announced release date, saying:

“We would love to inform you all that we will be shipping globally on December 2nd. And yes, we'll have a 60 FPS performance mode.”

Since the start of the 9th generation, we have seen most games offer multiple performance options for their games, with players being able to pick between 30fps, 60fps and beyond. Confirmation that The Callistol Protocol will offer such options is welcoming, especially in the wake of the news that Gotham Knights won’t.

Of course, Gotham Knights and The Callisto Protocol are entirely different types of games, but still, it is good to know that when you pick up The Callisto Protocol on day one you will be able to play it how you wish.
