Modern Warfare II’s first Season officially detailed with revamped Battle Pass

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II launched on the 28th of October to massive success, with the game breaking multiple franchise and platform records. This is all despite the fact that the game’s first Season of content has yet to go live. With Season 1 set to arrive on the 16th of November, Activision has now detailed exactly what will be coming with it.

Taking to their blog, the Call of Duty staff detailed what fans can look forward to with Modern Warfare II’s first Season of content, revealing the full suite of maps, guns, operators and more which are set to arrive on the 16th of November.

Season 1 of Modern Warfare II will be bringing with it quite a lot of content, including some features that many expected to be available at launch. Season 1 includes 6 new operators; 4 new weapons; 2 new maps (Shoot House at launch and Shipment mid-Season); a new Special Ops mission; a Raid; and a revamped Battle Pass where “Instead of a linear stream of tiers set out in a scrolling row along the bottom of your screen, your Battle Pass takes the form of a multi-Sector map” – giving players not only more freedom in choosing what to unlock, but also makes it more engaging while doing so.

Season 1 will also be bringing with it a number of modes and features which many expected to be there at launch, including a Hardcore playlist (renamed to ‘Tier 1’); player combat records; and a Prestige system.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare has already had a great start, but with the upcoming release of Season 1, it feels as though the real Modern Warfare II is only just about to begin. It’s a good thing at least that Season 1 is only coming two weeks following the game’s launch.
