Sackboy: A Big Adventure PC patch addresses shader compilation issues

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the latest Sony published game to find its way onto the PC platform. Unfortunately, not only has the game been met with mild commercial enthusiasm, but the PC port also suffered from some major performance woes, leading to a less-than-stellar experience. Fortunately, a new patch has seemingly solved this frustrating problem.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PC offered a good port with added features and graphical options, taking what was already a nice-looking game and making it even more visually pleasing. Unfortunately, the gaming experience on PC was heavily hampered by constant stuttering caused by Shader Compilation – making the game unplayable to some.

Fortunately, a new update has fixed this and more, with the team at Sumo Digital saying “We are absolutely thrilled to see so many new faces joining Sackboy and the rest of the community on Craftworld! Releasing Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PC is a big leap for us and we just wanted to say that we are sincerely grateful for all of your reviews, feedback and reports that you have posted so far. Our team have been monitoring your feedback since launch and we are continuing to work on patch updates that will look to address reported issues and bring exciting new Costume & Emote content to Sackboy: A Big Adventure.”

With that, the short but significant list of changes is as follows:

With Shader Compilation stutters now fixed, hopefully PC players will be able to experience Sackboy: A Big Adventure as intended. While not the most impressive game in the world, there is plenty of fun to have, and as such it is encouraging to see the game is now in a much more playable state.
