Nvidia RTX 40 GPUs for laptops appear in leak

Nvidia has begun rolling out its new RTX 40 graphics cards for desktops and soon, it looks like laptops will follow. According to a new leak, Nvidia is planning five new laptop GPUs using its latest architecture – including a mobile version of the RTX 4090. 

Over on Twitter, REHWK (via VideoCardz) shared an image with a table where we can see the code names for the upcoming GPUs, as well as their respective marketing names. For instance, a GN21-X11 will be known to the public as an RTX 4090.

At the top of the hierarchy, we have the GN21-X11, which will be RTX 4090 for laptops. According to previous rumours, this SKU is based on the AD103 GPU (RTX 4080), so don't expect it to match the desktop RTX 4090 card. Moreover, there's the GN21-X9 (AD104), which will be named RTX 4080 Ti, and the GN21-X6 (AD106), converted to RTX 4070. Lastly, there are the AD107-based GN21-X4 and the GN21-X2 GPUs, also known as RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060, respectively.

With CES 2023 scheduled to occur in less than three months, Nvidia might choose the event to share more details about the RTX 40 series laptop GPUs. Nvidia has previously chosen CES to launch new laptop GPUs, so this would make sense.

KitGuru says: The absence of an RTX 4050 and an RTX 4080 is a bit surprising, but those could potentially arrive at another time, assuming this leak is accurate. It is also worth noting that we've seen plenty of fake leaks in the past, so always take this sort of information with a grain of salt.
