AMD details Hypr-RX performance boosting feature

During the Radeon RX 7900 series announcement, AMD introduced a new feature called Hypr-RX. Based on the company's description, this one-click preset would enable AMD Radeon Boost, Anti-Lag, and Super Resolution technologies to reduce latency and increase FPS. Now, the company has shared a few more details about the tech behind it.

You already could enable all the AMD Software that Hypr-RX turns on. Doing everything with a single click instead of moving each slider is always easier. Once available, enabling the feature is as easy as going to the Graphics tab in the Adrenalin software, where you'll find other presets like “esports”, “Power Saving”, and “Standard”. Once you're there, click on the Hypr-RX button, and you're all set.

A simple push of a button enables AMD Radeon Boost (dynamic resolution scaling), Anti-Lag (latency reduction), and RSR (spatial upscaler). Although this can be pretty convenient, in games that support FSR 2 and higher you may be better off manually enabling the upscaling tech in the game menu and turning on Anti-Lag separately. If the game only supports FSR 1.0, it's up to you. RSR and FSR offer relatively similar results as both are based on the same algorithm.

According to AMD's data (system using Ryzen 9 7900X and DDR5-5200), Dying Light 2 running at 1080p on the high preset had its latency reduced by 63% with Hypr-RX enabled. As for the game's average framerate, it goes up by 85%.

AMD confirmed Hypr-RX will be available in H1 2023. Compatibility is still a wild card, but we assume most modern Radeon RX GPUs (desktop and mobile) will support the upcoming feature.

KitGuru says: This will make enabling AMD's other performance-enhancing features easier, but it doesn't necessarily bring anything brand new to the table.
