“I could see myself working on Fallout again” says New Vegas Director

Last month, we reported that Feargus Urquhart, the co-founder of Obsidian Entertainment, stated that the studio would be interested in developing another Fallout game if given the chance. Now, the game director for Fallout New Vegas has weighed in on the matter, similarly stating his desire to make another entry in the much-loved franchise.

In a recent interview with the Kinda Funny Games Xcast, Josh Sawyer, the director for some of Obsidian Entertainment's biggest works including Fallout New Vegas; Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2; and the recently-released Pentiment was asked whether he would consider working on another Fallout game, to which he responded:

“I love Fallout, I love the setting, I could see myself working on it again but you know, we'll see where the future takes me.”

When asked about his preferred setting for a future Fallout game, Sawyer said “California or the Midwest would be very interesting. Obviously, I have to be passionate about it as a Director but also that the team is really excited about and also that works within the larger idea of the IP.”

Of course, this in no way means that Obsidian Entertainment is working on a Fallout game. That being said, two of the studio’s biggest developers stating their desires to make another Fallout title is interesting – especially since Bethesda and Obsidian are now both owned by Microsoft.
