EA is working on three Marvel games

Over the summer, we heard rumours that EA had signed a licensing deal with Marvel that will see the publisher working on multiple new games. At this point, EA Motive's Iron Man game has been officially announced, and there is a rumour that another EA studio is working on a Black Panther game. As it turns out, there is an unannounced third game in the works too.

As part of the original press release for Motive's Iron Man game, EA confirmed it is working on ‘multiple' Marvel projects. For now, no other game has been officially announced, but reports claim that Black Panther will be getting a single-player action-adventure game from EA at some point in the future.

Now, as reported by Bloomberg, it has come to light that EA and Marvel have an agreement in place for three games in total. For now, there is no word on what the third game will be, so it could be another single-player game, or it could be a more experimental multiplayer game that leans into recurring revenue and monetisation.

EA does not have a timetable in place for these game releases. EA Motive is currently in pre-production on Iron Man, with the bulk of the company focusing on the upcoming Dead Space Remake. After that, resources will shift over and the studio will embark on the long process of production.

KitGuru Says: EA's time as the exclusive license holder for Star Wars videogames did not go well. Fortunately, at this point, Disney has ironed out its model and is working with studios and publishers across the industry. Now we'll just have to wait and see what that third game ends up being. Which Marvel character would you like to see for a new game?
