Battlefield 2042 heads to EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate next week

Previously, EA announced that Battlefield 2042 would be available through EA Play once Season 3 drops. Now, we have a proper date, with subscribers getting access on the 22nd of November.

For those out of the loop, an EA Play subscription is also included as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so if you subscribe to Microsoft's service, you'll be able to play Battlefield 2042 from the 22nd of November as well. EA typically adds its games to the EA Play library around 12 months after launch, so this falls right in line with that.

The 22nd of November will also be the day that Season 3 drops in-game, adding in new content and revamping the class system – one of the biggest complaints with the game. If all goes well, EA could have a refreshed shooter and players are more likely to jump in and give the changes a chance now that a full game purchase is no longer required.

If you aren't a fan of subscription services, there will be a number of free weekends for Battlefield 2042 next month. Xbox players will get free access to the game from the 1st to the 4th of December, while PC players on Steam will get free access to the game from December 1st to the 5th. Finally, PlayStation owners will get to play the game for free from the 16th of December through to the 23rd.

We are also currently in sales season, so expect to see discounts on Battlefield 2042 over the next few weeks if you are thinking of buying the game.

KitGuru Says: I haven't jumped back into Battlefield 2042 since launch, but with it coming to EA Play, I may finally dive back in to see all the changes. Did any of you play Battlefield 2042 back at launch? Will you be jumping back in for season 3?
