The Nvidia RTX 4060 may deliver RTX 3070-level performance with better efficiency

Currently, Nvidia is working on filling out the line-up of RTX 40 series desktop graphics cards. Currently, the RTX 4070 Ti is rumoured to be announced in January. An educated guess would put the RTX 4060 as arriving around June, with a decent performance and efficiency boost.

Nvidia has not yet officially announced an RTX 4060 and we do not know the planned spec of the GPU either. Still, there are smart people across the industry capable of making a pretty educated guess. Wolstame, a product planning manager at Lenovo China recently shared their expectations for the RTX 4060, including a boost to RTX 3070-level performance with gains in efficiency too.

In a discussion online, Wolstame shared his estimations for the RTX 4060, including a 20% performance boost over the RTX 3060 to deliver performance similar to an RTX 3070, as well as a 10% efficiency boost over the RTX 3060 to bring the GPU into the 140W to 180W range.

If these guesses are on point, then we should begin hearing more about the RTX 4060 in Q2 next year.
