Nvidia officially announces the RTX 3060 8GB variant and RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory

After multiple AIB partners revealed their RTX 3060 8GB and RTX 3060 Ti GDDR6X custom designs, Nvidia has finally announced the two new GPUs. According to Nvidia, the new cards will be released next month, so we should see these out in the wild soon.

Besides the two RTX 3060 graphics cards, Zotac has also shown its first custom design for a new RTX 3070 Ti based on the GA102-150 GPU. However, Nvidia did not announce this new SKU officially yet.

Nvidia has now confirmed the specs shared by the AIB partners. For the RTX 3060 case, the new version comes with 3,584 CUDA cores, a 1.78GHz boost clock speed, and 8GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit bus. The new RTX 3060 Ti has the same specs as the original model but with an upgrade to GDDR6X memory running at 19Gbps instead of the 8GB of GDDR6 at 14Gbps. The 256-bit memory bus remains untouched.

Nvidia stated both cards would be available starting in November, so it shouldn't be long before we see these cards available.
