Philips’ latest monitor boasts a 4K Mini LED panel and DisplayHDR 1400

Philips has been making an impressive push in the gaming display market recently. This month, the company is launching something a bit different – the Philips 27B1U7903 is a creativity-focused monitor, aiming for high-quality visuals and performance-boosting features, while also delivering the newest connectivity standards.

The Philips 27B1U7903 features a 27-inch 4K Mini LED panel and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity for easy setup and docking. Compared to other Mini LED displays, this one packs a much larger number of lighting zones, moving up from the typical 576 zone backlighting to 2,304 zone backlighting. This in turn helps the monitor achieve higher contrast ratios and excellent HDR performance.

The spec sheet shows that this monitor is certified with DisplayHDR 1400, so you'll get deeper blacks, brighter whites and more realistic colours, highlights and shadows in supported HDR content. The monitor will fit nicely with almost any desk setup too, thanks to its four-sided frameless design and integrated cable management through the monitor stand.

Speaking of the stand, it offers swivel, tilt and height adjustment. Philips has also integrated a PowerSensor, which can help save on energy use by up to 80 percent when enabled. The Philips 27B1U7903 is now available, priced at £1199.
