High On Life headlines Xbox Game Pass December update

We've arrived at December, which means there are just two more Xbox Game Pass updates left in 2022. Today, Microsoft has announced the next wave of games coming to Game Pass, covering all the way up to the 15th of December.

Announced for Game Pass earlier this year, High On Life is the headlining game this month. High On Life is a sci-fi shooter, in which humanity is being threatened by aliens that want to use humans as drugs – yes, you read that correctly. Together with your talking guns (you read that right too), you'll set out on a mission to take down an alien gang and save the world. The game has looked great in trailers so far, and we'll finally have the opportunity to play it for ourselves on the 13th of December.

Here's the full list of titles announced for Xbox Game Pass today:

  • Eastward (Available now)
  • The Walking Dead: The Final Season (Available Now)
  • Totally Reliable Delivery Service (Available Now)
  • Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (December 6th)
  • Hello Neighbor 2 (December 6th)
  • Chained Echoes (December 8th)
  • Metal: Hellsinger (December 8th)
  • High On Life (December 13th)
  • Potion Craft (December 13th)
  • Hot Wheels Unleashed (December 15th)
  • Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan (December 15th)

If you happen to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or Xbox Game Pass for PC, then you'll also have an EA Play membership, and that means you can also play Battlefield 2042 now without having to buy the game outright.

Unfortunately, there are also some big games leaving Game Pass this month, including:

  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Breathedge (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Firewatch (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Lake (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Neoverse (Cloud and Console)
  • Race with Ryan (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (Console) EA Play
  • Transformers: Battlegrounds (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Microsoft may have some more news for us next week, as the company is rumoured to be taking part in The Game Awards on the 8th of December.

KitGuru Says: Dragon Quest XI leaving Game Pass sticks out as a pretty big loss to me. With that said, it has also been on the service for a long time. If you've been putting off finishing it, you might want to pick it back up again before it disappears from the library.
