Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting one last content update next month

It has been two years since Assassin's Creed Valhalla first launched and Ubisoft is finally starting to wind down development. After a long roadmap of DLCs, Ubisoft has now announced ‘The Last Chapter' update for the game, which will wrap up a few remaining storylines.

On the 6th of December, Valhalla will get its final content update, bringing an end to two years of post-launch support for the game. The new update will include a “touching and intimate conclusion to Eivor's saga” and “offer closure” to player's time as part of the Raven Clan.

In order to access this final mission, there is a checklist of milestones you must cross. For starters, you'll have to have completed the main storyline and pledged to all territories, complete the mythical story arcs set in Asgard and Jotunheim, max out your settlement upgrades and kill all assassination targets.

Unfortunately, while Ubisoft had hoped to include a New Game+ mode with Valhalla, the developers have scrapped that idea after struggling to find ways to make replays unique and rewarding.

Next year, there will be a new, smaller-scale game in the series, Assassin's Creed Mirage, which will follow Basim, who you meet during Valhalla. After that, Ubisoft will be preparing for its next big reinvention of Assassin's Creed with AC: Infinity, which will be a ‘platform' for future Assassin's Creed games, including one reportedly set in Japan, a long-requested setting amongst fans.
