Ubisoft has spent many years away from Steam, instead pushing PC players towards the publisher’s own Ubisoft Connect game store and launcher. Fortunately, Ubisoft is finally coming back to Steam – and their return will be spearheaded by a few major games, including the free-to-play Roller Champions.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is finally dropping onto Steam today after spending over 2 years on competing platforms (namely Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store). While Valhalla represents the first Ubisoft title to come to the platform after years away, it certainly won’t be the last.
It was previously confirmed that Roller Champions, the free-to-play team PvP sports title, would also be coming to Steam, though we did not know when. Now, thanks to an update to the game’s Steam page, we know that Roller Champions is set to arrive next week – on the 13th of December.
Being a free-to-play game Roller Champions needs a large user base in order to maintain a healthy economy, and not being on Steam was severely gimping the game’s potential. As such, it is exciting to see the game being given a second wind. Hopefully this chance is not squandered. We will have to wait and see.
