MSI unveils new MEG Trident X2 gaming PC with IPS touch display

With Intel's 13th Gen Core desktop CPUs and Nvidia's new RTX 40 series graphics cards now on the market, OEMs are starting to unveil new prebuilt desktop systems. MSI makes the list with its new MEG Trident X2 gaming PC, which includes an IPS touch display that can be used to make quick settings adjustments, start games or monitor system components.

Looking at the chassis of the MEG Trident X2, the first thing you'll probably notice is its two-part design with the Mystic Light-compatible RGB LED strip dividing the segments. With this design (Silent Storm Cooling 3), MSI promises to offer better cooling for the components, bringing air in from the top and front panels, which will then be exhausted from the right-side panel. In addition, the PSU has a dedicated air chamber to prevent hot air from being trapped inside the case.

The other selling point for the MEG Trident X2 is its 4.5-inch touch display with the HMI (Human Machine Interface) 2.0 technology, eliminating the need to use third-party apps for monitoring the system and seeing in-game FPS. The IPS screen also allows users to start a game with one touch and configure the system's lighting, performance, and sound effects. Moreover, you can adjust the settings for MSI gaming monitors using the touch display thanks to the built-in G.I. Function.

The MSI MEG Trident X2 has various options for the CPU. You can either go for the Core i9-13900K/KF or step down a notch and choose the Core i7-13700K/KF. Regardless of the CPU, the system always comes with a Z790 motherboard and is cooled by a 280mm AIO liquid cooler. For memory, there are 4x slots that can rank up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM. On the graphics front, you can configure the system with up to an RTX 4090 graphics card.

Storage options include an M.2 PCIe 5.0 SSD slot, an M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD slot, an M.2 PCIe 4.0/SATA combo (auto-switch), two 2.5-inch drive bays and 2x 3.5-inch drive bays. For wireless connectivity, there's Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Moreover, it has dual LAN ports (2.5G + 1G), five audio jacks for different types of devices, a S/PDIF port, an HDMI port, five USB-A interfaces (two 2.0 and three 3.2 Gen2), and a USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2 port.
