Forza Motorsport released last year to a positive reception from critics – though much less so from long-term fans of the racing series. That said, the devs at Turn 10 have slowly been improving the final product with each successive patch. In their latest “Message to the Motorsport Community”, the team have detailed all of the updates arriving over the course of the rest of the year.
Making the announcement on their blog, the team at Turn 10 Studios detailed all of the various changes and additions coming to Forza Motorsport over the next four months “so that way you have a roadmap of what’s to come throughout the rest of the year.”
The full blog post goes into further details on all the changes, but the top-level additions arriving over the next few months include the following:
- Reworked Spectate mode
- Drift mode
- Creative Hub and Share Codes (overhauled Media tab)
- New cars
- Two new tracks
- Sunset Peninsula (October)
- Bathurst (December)
- Additional Free Play weather options
- Ongoing Improvements to Forza Race Regulations
- Advanced Ghosting in Featured Multiplayer
- New ways to unlock cars
Unfortunately, based on what they have stated is set to be coming, it can be safely assumed that the long-promised addition of ray-traced global illumination will not be ready for 2024. Next year perhaps? We will have to wait and see.
