It has been a long time since we last had a single-player Batman game, despite the wide popularity of the Arkham series. As it turns out, Warner Bros may have a new Batman title in development, but rather than being set in Rocksteady's universe, it will be set in the same universe as the latest film.
The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, is set for another spin-off. A sequel film is already in the works, and there is also a TV series coming centred around The Penguin. Now, a video game is being added to the list, according to Puck News.
Under CEO, David Zaslav, the WB games division is going to be used in more ‘strategic' ways. One of those plans seems to be more movie tie-in games. However, it is unclear if the new game will simply follow the plot of the film, or if it will tell an entirely separate story. It is also unclear of any of the main actors from the film will lend their voice to the game.
Nothing has been officially announced yet and videogame cancellations are not an uncommon phenomenon, so we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, the Arkhamverse is returning this year with Batman: Arkham Shadow, which is releasing exclusively for Quest 3 VR headsets this year.

KitGuru Says: I really liked The Batman and wouldn't mind seeing a game set in this version of Gotham, but I do worry that the writers will be hampered by restrictions based on what is planned for future films or TV shows.
