Multiple Lara Croft games are coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023

The Lara Croft Tomb Raider series has had multiple identities over the franchise’s decades long history, with Croft tackling a whole host of genres – including co-op isometric shooters. Originally announced back in 2021 to be coming to Nintendo Switch this year, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (2010) and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (2014) are now set for release some time in 2023.

Video game porting house Feral Interactive recently took to Twitter to host a Q&A session, where in response to one fan who asked “What are the next Switch games you’re working on?” the studio said “Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris / Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.”

When pressed for details on when Switch owners can expect to get their hands on these titles, Feral Interactive claimed that “Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light/Temple of Osiris are now coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023. We look forward to sharing more in the new year!”

As mentioned, both these titles were originally planned for release on Switch in 2022, with no reason being given for the delay (though it may have had to do with Square Enix selling the IP). That being said, when it does finally arrive, Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris / Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light could be released physically for the first time, with Feral Interactive saying “We'll certainly consider it but nothing has been finalised yet. More news to come next year.”

Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris / Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light may not be the biggest titles in the franchise, but it is encouraging nonetheless to see any form of Tomb Raider game come to Nintendo’s platform – even if it does take longer than expected.
