Resident Evil 4 Remake demo and Mercenaries mode announced

Last night during Sony's State of Play stream, a new Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer debuted, giving us a look at new gameplay scenes ahead of launch next month. The game's upcoming VR mode has already been announced, but there is also a demo on the way, in addition to Mercenaries mode.

You'll have a chance to try Resident Evil 4 Remake a little ahead of release thanks to an incoming demo. There is no exact date yet but the demo is ‘coming soon'. If it is anything like previous demos, we'll get a short amount of playtime with a timer in place.

Capcom has also announced that Mercenaries mode will return in a post-launch update for Resident Evil 4 Remake. While the demo was only announced for PlayStation, and the game's upcoming VR mode will likely only be for PSVR2, it is believed that the free Mercenaries mode will be available across all platforms.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will release on the 24th of March for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.
