Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti may be 10% cheaper than cancelled RTX 4080 12GB

With the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti coming to replace the cancelled RTX 4080 12GB, many assumed the new GPU would have the same $899 MSRP. Contrary to those expectations, recent reports claim the upcoming GPU will be at least 10% cheaper, depending on the region.

According to Moore's Law Is Dead, the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti will start at $799, putting it 11% below the MSRP announced for the RTX 4080 12GB. The company had reportedly considered putting it at $899 but decided to pull the price down. Still, the possibility of the price creeping back up hasn't been discounted.

However it's worth mentioning they did briefly consider $899, and I really wouldn't be surprised if they changed their minds again.

Either way expect some AIBs to charge well over MSRP if it "starts" close to or at $799.

On the other side of the world, Expreview (via VideoCardz) also reported the RTX 4070 Ti would be cheaper than the RTX 4080 12GB. As per their sources, the new graphics card will have an MSRP of ¥6,499. That's a 10% cut over the price announced for the cancelled RTX 4080 GPU, which would come at ¥7,199.

The RTX 4070 Ti should have the same specs as the RTX 4080 12GB, with 7,680 CUDA cores, 12GB of GDDR6X memory, and a 285W TDP. An official announcement is expected to arrive during CES 2023.
