While Arkane was due to debut its first Xbox exclusive, Redfall, in 2022, the game was delayed alongside Bethesda's Starfield, with both now planned for ‘the first half of 2023'. According to new reports, it looks like Redfall will now be arriving in May.
Sources familiar with Arkane's plans have told Windows Central that Redfall is targeting a May release date. There may also be a pre-order incentive planned granting early access to the game slightly ahead of its official release.
Redfall is a co-op focused game that can be played solo, but it is primarily designed around having up to four players. The game is set in the fictional town of Redfall, which has become overrun with vampires. In an open-world setting, you and up to three other players will travel around completing quests and taking down vampire leaders along the way to take back control of the town.
Redfall was originally going to come out in 2022, but was delayed earlier this year alongside Bethesda's next major RPG, Starfield. Both titles are now expected to land on Xbox and PC in the first half of 2023. Current rumours suggest the game will release in May. Microsoft is reportedly planning a Q1 showcase to go over the titles planned for the first half of the year, so if this rumour is true, we will likely see Redfall there.
KitGuru Says: Redfall seems like one of those games I likely wouldn't pick up, but with it coming to Game Pass, I'll almost certainly be giving it a go. Are many of you looking forward to Arkane's Vampire-themed co-op shooter?
