CES 2023: Asus is collaborating with Noctua to release an RTX 4080 graphics card

Following the success of the Asus x Noctua RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 graphics cards, both companies have decided to work together once again to release an RTX 4080-based card. On the outside, the card looks a lot like the previous Noctua cards, but there are significant differences under the shroud.

The Asus RTX 4080 Noctua Edition is launching soon, equipped with two NF-A12x25 120mm fans. The heatsink is now bigger, as the card now has a 4.3-slot design. Moreover, there's a Dual BIOS switch, with the Quiet BIOS enabled by default.

Another improvement over the older cards is the implementation of a vapour chamber on the heatsink, served by eight heat pipes. According to Asus, using this cooling solution, the RTX 4080 GPU peaked at just 61.7ºC (unknown ambient temperature) with the TDP set at 320W.

At the moment, Asus and Noctua are sticking to the classic brown and beige fans, but perhaps one day we'll see a new edition featuring Noctua's more neutral black NF-A12x25 fans.

KitGuru says: The Noctua edition coolers have impressed so far. Hopefully soon we'll get some hands-on time with the new RTX 4080 edition to see how it compares to other custom-cooled models.
