Remedy’s CrossfireX campaign is leaving Xbox Game Pass soon

Recently Microsoft revealed the next batch of games heading to Xbox Game Pass, but as always, some games are being cycled out. As it seems, Game Pass will be losing one of its bigger exclusives, with the CrossfireX campaign disappearing from the service.

The CrossfireX campaign has improved since launch, but it hasn't been enough to shake the bad reputation the game earned at launch. The game arrived on Xbox as a console exclusive and was also a day-one Game Pass title. Interestingly, the campaign mode was developed by Remedy, the studio behind other hit action games like Control. It would seem that Microsoft only had a 12-month deal to keep the game on Game Pass. This change may also signify that timed console exclusivity is ending, so we may see the campaign pop up on other platforms, like PlayStation.

Other titles leaving Xbox Game Pass this month include Besiege, Infernax, Skul: The Hero Slayer and The Last Kids on Earth, all of which were added in February 2022.

While Microsoft pays extra to extend certain Game Pass deals, other titles simply leave the service without much fuss. The timing of Game Pass deals also varies, with some bigger games having shorter stints on the service. In some cases, Microsoft will work out bigger deals, as we've seen for games like ARK: Survival Evolved and its upcoming sequel, ARK 2.

KitGuru Says: It is always interesting to learn more about the deals in place to get titles on Game Pass. With Crossfire X leaving, it may be a sign that timed console exclusivity is also ending, paving the way for additional platforms beyond Xbox and PC.
