One of the primary features advertised by Sony for the Premium tier of its revamped PlayStation Plus series was the ability to play trials for a number of titles both small and large alike. While this aspect has been somewhat lacking, a major PS5 exclusive has now been added to the program.
Making the announcement on Twitter, The Last of Us Part 1 has now gotten a two-hour long trial playable by all those with a PS+ Premium subscription. This marks the 38th trial game added, now making for a decent selection of games including the likes of:
- Ghostwire Tokyo
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Dying Light 2
- Cyberpunk 2077
- A Plague Tale Requiem
- MLB The Show 22
- Soul Hackers 2
While The Last of Us Part 1’s trial lasts for two hours, others drop as low as one single hour, while some let you play up to 5 hours – partially dependent on the length of the game in question.
PlayStation Plus Premium has been a tough sell for many, with the middle ‘Extra’ tier so far proving to offer the most value for money. That said, the addition of The Last of Us Part 1 is nice, and so hopefully more major titles are added sooner rather than later.
