Bright Memory: Infinite was one of the first Xbox Series X games to be shown off all the way back in 2020. Since then the title has come and gone, but the developers have continued to work diligently on bringing major new features to the game. In a surprise and free update, Bright Memory: Infinite can now be played entirely in 3rd person.
Announcing the update via a post on Steam, the Bright Memory: Infinite team said: “Hello everyone, we've released a special update to celebrate Chinese New Year that we hope you'll enjoy! We're introducing an all-new Perspective-assist mode.”
Explaining how the new mode works, they continued, “When you turn it on in settings, Shelia's model will be displayed on-screen. Shelia's model will only be displayed while moving and firing a weapon without aiming. The camera will revert to first-person when aiming, using skills, using the Light Blade, defending, and grappling.”
The trailer released showing off this new 3rd person mode looks impressive and well-implemented, with switching between perspectives being quick and seamless. Furthermore, 3rd person animations have also been implemented wholly, meaning the combat in 3rd person is just as slick and flashy as in 1st person.
Of course, the update also brings with it a bunch of fixes, optimisations, and new free cosmetic DLC. Bright Memory: Infinite’s Perspective-assist Mode is available right now. The full list of patch notes can be found HERE.
