EA surprised us all last year with the announcement of Dead Space Remake. Given EA's checkered history, there was some concern that a ‘modernised' version of the game would bring about unwanted changes, similar to what happened with Dead Space 3. Fortunately, the reviews are now in and it looks like the team at EA Motive has delivered an impressive and faithful retelling.
Today, roughly 50 pre-release reviews for Dead Space Remake went live, with many praising the game for its graphical overhaul and gameplay tweaks to freshen up the experience. By most accounts, this is a stellar remake of a cult classic, so if you've been hoping to see Dead Space return, or you never had the chance to play the original game, now seems to be a great time to jump in.
Over on Metacritic, Dead Space Remake currently has an 89 overall score, just as it does on Open Critic, making it one of the highest-rated releases of the year so far, beating out other big titles like Fire Emblem Engage and Forspoken.
Dead Space Remake launches tomorrow, the 27th of January, for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

KitGuru Says: Having followed the development updates on this, I was pretty confident that Dead Space Remake would turn out well. Now, hopefully EA can be convinced to keep the franchise around and perhaps create a new game set in this universe.
